We are seeking a UVA undergraduate student to work on research related to leadership, management, and organizations. Our projects incorporate survey, archival, and experimental methodologies to explore questions such as how the terms of contracts promote or inhibit cooperation among team members, whether and when hierarchy is an effective mechanism of social organization, how trust can be used as a strategic tactic, and whether or not it really is “lonely at the top.” USOAR students will receive formal training in administering behavioral and experimental research studies, as well as ethics training. This is an ideal position for a candidate looking to gain research experience before applying to graduate school in business, psychology, public policy, or related fields, and the ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, interests in conducting organizational research, and the ability to work independently.

Interests in understanding human behavior from a psychological perspective are preferred.
