Undergraduate Research Symposium

The 2021 Undergraduate Research Symposium took place April 16 - 22nd, however you can still visit the iPoster gallery here to read about undergraduate research projects.

Overview

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is an opportunity for students to present what they have learned through their research experiences to a broad audience. It includes projects from all disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary discourse, allowing students to learn from each other about a range of topics.

How to Participate

For those interested in attending the symposium, please follow the link at the top of this page to enter the Symposium website. The website includes both the presentations and detailed information on live sessions, including which presenters will be in each session and how to join via Zoom.

What to Expect

We are using iPosterSessions to hold this event virtually this year. iPosters are interactive online presentations reminiscent of the style of a research poster. To get the most out of your experience at the symposium we recommend you spend time browsing the posters early in the week and noting session times which you are interested in attending.

We intend for the iPosters to provide viewers with an interactive and complete asynchronous presentation experience. Presenters will be able to incorporate text, images, graphics, video, and audio directly into their iPoster in order to communicate their research effectively. There are a myriad of ways to design a great iPoster with or without some of these features - we invite students to be creative!

The synchronous portion of the symposium will only take place in the form of live Q&A panel discussions which will each last 50 minutes. Live sessions will take the style of a panel discussion with multiple student presenters from a common field taking questions from attendees about their research. Each iPoster will have information on when the student presenter(s) will participate in a live session. Attendees interested in browsing live sessions based on time and academic category will be able to do so using a Live Sessions webpage within the symposium website beginning April 16th.

Schedule at a Glance

Please visit the symposium website on or after April 16th to find out when a particular presenter will be participating in a live Q&A panel discussion. An overview of when Live Sessions are scheduled can be found below.
